I've been wanting to post more here, so I figured today I would compile a short list of my favorite songs by the band Tool. I guess it will be a "Top 10" list.
If you haven't heard of Tool, they are known for their song length (many songs between 7 and 15 minutes in length), their creativity (such as using multiple successive time signature changes, overtones from the interaction between guitar and bass, an outrageous number of different percussion instruments), and their strange, disturbing, and surreal music videos.
They used to be pretty well known for not licensing their music to anyone nor allowing it on any streaming services, but they relaxed that policy around the time their latest album "Fear Inoculum" released.
Anyway, without further ado, here are the Tool songs I enjoy the most and that I think maybe you should try listening to as well. All links are to youtube videos on the official Tool channel.
10,000 Days is my favorite album overall, but there are strong contenders from every part of their musical career and the fact that some albums are not represented in my list is merely a testament to the strength of the ones that I did choose.
