designing a post song machine cyborg noodle
In the music video for the last chord she's seen to be still in the submarine
& we see her eye open as she falls into the sea
considering her being a robot & everything, it's pretty unlikely she'd be able to get out of that submarine fully in tact. but considering she managed to stay working this long, perhaps she manages to escape & remain somewhat functional?
speculation of her internals
I happen to know a bit about robots & animatronics, which makes me really notice when things are inaccurate. so I feel the need to add realism instead of just adding random weathering. you gotta know what's inside so you know what can be broken
- mechanics encased in a layer of shaping plastic with false skin over top is my guess
- depending on material of the skin it would likely be more likely to tear along joints, leaving places for water to enter & rust exposed metal
- hair is a wig on top, or I guess maybe rooted in? idk why murdoc would go through that much effort so probably not
- hat may be glued on, although it also may not be. I guess it depends on how realistic murdoc wanted her
- her clothes are likely removable, although if murdoc cheeped out there's a possibility that there isn't any false skin on the torso & it's entirely just the casing.
possible damage
- bullet hole in the head may cause water to seep into integral parts of her 'brain" causing corrosion & messing with certain things. perhaps she may get stuck repeating certain things or have implied decision making? (the main motherboard would more realistically probably be in her chest as it's a bigger space but considering this is fiction we can ignore realism in places like that)
- If she could talk (we don't actually know if she could or not, I don't believe it's ever mentioned) her speaker is likely incredibly water damaged. she probably sounds like a wii remote speaker if she even still can make any sound
- her battery is almost guaranteed to be cooked, batteries always degrade over time especially if they're left with small amounts of power for long periods. in fact, her battery may even be super inflated (if you've ever left an old flip phone or ipod in a drawer for long enough you might know what I mean).
- her joints are likely very stiff or broken completely due to rust, areas like elbow joints likely don't move very fluidly. she likely doesn't have sensors that detect actual location of limbs so she may make completely incorrect movements from thinking her limbs are somewhere they aren't
Please feel free to comment any suggestions!!
I'll be updating this blog as I continue designing her, if you have any theory's or anything at all to say please contribute!
