Step mom

Hey again it’s me lol, I guess this is helping me cope with being a new mom and not having many people to chat with. So I have a 8 year old step daughter, I love her to bits. When I met her we just clicked and I knew I was supposed to be in her life. It was very new to me co parenting with her mom and even with her dad. I didn’t know my boundaries, if I was involved too much or too less, can I do this or not, what is a healthy place for me to be in her life. All I knew is the more time I spent with her the more I loved this amazing little girl. It was rocky at first but now let me tell you now it’s amazing as ever. We go on girl dates, movie nights, help her with her homework, snuggling and even the hard things doctors appointments to dentist appointment to our crazy Wednesdays with gymnastics. I thought having my son would make me a mother but this little girl showed me that I was ready to be a mom because I already knew what to do with her. Being a step mom is hard and I may overstep, but I’m always there no matter what and I want her to know that I will always be there. To all the step moms out there hang in there on the hard and bad days! It’s not always easy and we may get the shit end of the stick but just love that child and show them that the step parent isn’t always evil (like in the movies). My life may seem like a fairy tail but by all means it took a lot of work to get there or to some it will seem like a chaotic shit show, I like to roll the dice and see which one I’ll get. Ha
