Emily is Away is a great game. It captures perfectly the feeling of early 2000s messaging and the pop culture at the time.

...having said that - it's best to be in the right frame of mind to play this game.

I lost a friend group a little while ago, and got totally caught off guard by the ending I got where the friendship ends up drifting apart. Guess that means it's well written, huh?

It really is. I cannot overstate how much I wanted the player character to not have the same experience with Emily as I did with my friends.

One thing I found was that no matter what I said, things didn't seem to get better, which was precisely the case IRL too.

In the end, all I can say is that Emily is Away is a brilliant game - just make sure you're ready for it when you play it.
