I MISS COFFEE SHOPS! - My Covid Cry

I'm sure we've all experienced some kind of cabin fever at the start of 2020 and for me that feeling hasn't gone away. Since march of last year, there has been an onslaught of reminders of all the things I've taken for granted. Everything from concerts, to thrift shopping, to a simple afternoon at my favorite coffee shop. It's not even about the coffee at this point, I don't even need coffee.  I could go to some coffee chain if that were the case, but this place had character. The atmosphere, the aesthetic if you will, is what I crave more than anything; The high ceilings, big bay windows, the odd decor themed around bicycles, a small stage for performances, and the collection of mix matched furniture that was often times donated throughout the years.
This coffee shop embodied that home away from home feeling to a T. I've made and lost friends there, I've witnessed peers act their hearts out, I was interviewed for my first job there for Pete's sake! I miss it, damn it. The thought of never stepping foot there again makes me heart heavy. This blog may seem over dramatic but I feel like that place deserves a lot more than a stupid pandemic. We all did, really. Maybe we can hold ourselves and our communities accountable this year, because as unimportant as a damn coffee shop is, I really don't wanna see it die out. Here's a tribute to all the small town coffee shops that we've taken for granted.

If any readers have more to add to this please do, I'd love to hear about your own coffee shop experiences and memories.

Be safe, Be kind.

I can totally picture that kind of coffee shop! Did they fully go out of business, or just no seating for now? If they're gone, that really stinks! The large chains have been largely insulated from the pandemic and it's the small places with real character that we lost a lot of.

It's not gone under just yet but I am worried for its longevity. They've taken the pandemic very serious, which I appreciate, but their business must be struggling.
