By way of introduction (I'm just looking for a fren)

Like so many before and after, I ended up here from a certain amount of disgruntlement with other Socials. Back in the day, I had MySpace, which was fun and new and exciting, but ultimately became some sort of Internet joke before it vanished from the ether.

Then came LiveJournal, which was a great site for mini-blogging, meeting like-minded folks, and writing to our heart's content. But he Russians took over and it became...less. In any case, I kind of fell off forever.

I can't even deal with Facebook, because the algorithm being what it is, nobody ever responded to my posts because they never saw anything I posted. Invisibility only works if you're Harry Potter sneaking through Hogwarts at night with the Marauder's Map.

Twitter can be fun, but it lacks a certain Je Ne Sais Quoi. Besides, it's way too political for a person who just wants to talk about costumes, animals, music, cupcakes, and having fun in day to day life.

So here I am, hoping to meet some like-minded folks, maybe make some friends along the way.

What will you get?

My goal is to turn people weird. I am a cosplayer, an 80s music aficionado (the more obscure the music, the better), an old Goth, an old Punk, a new wave kid, a child of the 80s. Dragons, cats, reptiles, dinosaurs, insects, spiders, raptors, I love them all.

Here's a bit about little pink me:

I have MeatCatâ„¢, a sassy and verbal Burmese named Samantha the Pantha. She enjoys being zoomed around in boxes and laundry baskets like she's driving a car. I used to keep reptiles, but the Pandemic made it a challenge to get what my scaly pals needed to eat. Well that, and a wicked health scare made it hard to take care of them, so I found them fantastic new homes.

Do you cosplay? Because I do. It's great fun to cosplay monsters, imps, creatures. I'm not a furry, though I play one on TV.

Feel free to bop by and say hi. As David Bowie once said, "Love on, ya!".

By the way, I love David Bowie. Like a lot. If you love Bowie too, then we are automatically best friends.
