Daily film rec #1: Perfect Blue

Synopsis: A retired pop singer turned actress’ sense of reality is shaken when she is stalked by an obsessed fan and seemingly a ghost of her past.

Review (no spoilers)

I am a huge fan of Satoshi Kon's work, I've seen all of his movies and only didn't see the anime serie he directed (paranoia agent).This movie is first work and also my favorite. The directing and editing in this movie is crazy and will make you lose your mind over what is reality in this film. I won't spoil but the parallel between the movie shoot (in the film) and reality is amazing and so well made. This movie is disturbing, not only because of the events portrayed that are really real and sad events of every day life, but also because it confuses you and make you feel akward, it is a crazy, psychological and weird trip into a actress' nightmare that will move you for a while.

Why you should watch it: 

If you're into surrealistic experiences, disturbing films, phsychological horror and 90's anime, I highly recommand this film, a true masterpiece even today. One of my favorite film of all time and for sure my favorite animated movie ! 

However be careful  to not be easily disturbed and massive tw for s3xual violence.
