EclipseClan: Rise of Amberstar [OLD WARRIOR CATS CLANGEN FANFIC]

[Present-day Clover here, this was sitting around in my blogs 4 over a year but i didn't know i never made it public until today, oops. i guess i was still working on it but forgot abt it at sum point. Anywho its public now soo, enjoy <3 ]

Holy shit i return

anyways Warrior Cats has me in a deathgrip and so i found this funky lil fangame called ClanGen, and so i ended up making a story about dumb lil cats so enjoy some writing

Wisteriastar crept through the undergrowth, her jaws parted to taste the air. Prey-scent bathed her tongue, along with the smell of catmint, growing somewhere nearby.

I'll have to tell Twigtail and the other medicine cats about that when i get back, she thought to herself as she picked her way through the undergrowth, stalking a shrew. It skittered through the grass a few tail-lengths away, unaware of the she-cat nearby. She padded a few steps closer, her moons of hunting practice flitting through her mind as she pounced and landed on top of the shrew, swiftly biting it on the neck. She sat there for a moment, admiring her catch and thanking StarClan for the meal.

"Looks like you still have the strength of youth in you," Said a voice behind her. Wysteriastar turned to see her newly-appointed deputy, Amberlarch, pushing through some nearby ferns. Behind him, she could see his mate Hyacinthshade trotting towards them, carrying a couple of mice by their tails.

Wisteriastar twitched her tail, allowing herself a small amount of pride. "It's been quite a while since i went out hunting," She mewed. "I suppose being in camp for so long has given me extra strength to burn off." She shook out her pelt, her paws tingling with the urge to race across the mountains. She looked back at Amberlarch, his eyes gazing at her with interest. He probably knew her true reason for wanting to be out: the loss of her previous deputy, Rimenudge, had struck her harder than she had anticipated. Amberlarch had found the body, saying that he was killed by a passing gang of rogues while going on a midnight stroll. Since then she had found it hard to get out of her nest, whether it be to watch over the patrols or to grab prey from the fresh-kill pile. Despite the comfort her Clanmates offered her, the world around her seemed out-of-place and foggy. She never actually loved him, though; it was more of a platonic like, as she trusted him more than any other cat since Sundrizzle, the first medicine cat.

"Seems like it," Hyacinthshade chimed in. "You seem much more fit than when you were huddled up in camp." Wisteriastar could only nod her thanks at their praise, her gaze flicking back to the forest. I'm the leader of this Clan. Surely I can catch more than just a scrawny shrew.

"Shouldn't we be going now? The Clan needs to be fed." She meowed, but as she spoke she saw Amberlarch stand, an unreadable emotion in his gaze.

"Don't you think you should take a break?" Amberlarch said, his voice smooth as honey. "After all, you're still grieving Rimenudge's death." Behind him, Hyacinthshade nodded, although Wisteriastar noticed the glint of malice in her eyes.

She stared at them, bewildered. "Leave my Clan? I'm- I may be grieving, but that doesn't mean- I still have nine lives, it'd be cowardly if I just-"

Hyacinthshade interrupted her, swiping her tail over Wisteriastar's mouth. "Oh come on, do you really think you moping around like a sad drooping kit does anyone any good? You're about as helpful as a tick." She said coldly.

Wisteriastar looked at her, too stunned to respond at the thought of her own daughter wanting to replace her. Is she right? Have I really been that depressed? But a moment later she shook the thought away, replacing it with grim determination. She turned to Amberlarch. "You're my deputy," she said, with the hint of a growl in her mew. "You're supposed to be on my side, not against it. What's gotten into you?"

Amberlarch simply shrugged. "If you asked me, I think you've been a bit too...soft... on the Clan and our neighbors," he mewed, his tone icily calm. "How do you expect EclipseClan to earn the respect of all the neighboring Clans when you allow loners and kittypets into our territory?"

"I allow those other cats in because they either have nowhere else to go, or because they feel that their destiny lies in a Clan rather than in a Twoleg den or by themselves in the forest." She snarled back, her fur bristling. "I'm not heartless. Unlike you two, it seems." She glanced at her deputy and then her daughter, resting her eyes on the latter. "Hyacinthshade..."

"Don't bother using my name anymore." She said, flattening her ears at her mother. "When all this is over, you'll be dead to me."

"But...But I raised you so well," Wisteriastar mewed pleadingly. "I thought you'd turn out kind and caring, not...not this."

Hyacinthshade snorted. "You thought wrong." She glanced at Amberlarch, who nodded slightly, and then she was on top of Wisteriastar, pinning her down and pummeling her back with her hind claws. Wisteriastar only had a moment's hesitation of shock before throwing her off and leaping at her daughter, hitting her with a blow to the head that sent her sprawling away. But then Amberlarch was there, rushing past to score his claws across her pelt before twisting around and lunging for her throat, and she was just barely able to keep his jaws a whisker away from locking shut in her neck. She reared up and tried to swipe at his muzzle, but he seemed to know exactly where she would strike, swerving and dodging her with the speed of a snake. She landed back down, her fur spiked and glistening with the blood that she had lost to these awful, awful cats.

By now the two cats had begun circling around the Clan leader, hissing mockingly. Wisteriastar tried to watch them both at the same time, but she couldn't take her eyes off Hyacinthshade, who by now seemed to be more ruthless than her mate by the look of pure hatred and mockery in her eyes.

"You mouse-hearted fool." She sneered before once more racing towards her mother, claws extended as she swung for her muzzle. Wisteriastar felt the blood well up on her nose as she darted around Hyacinthshade and knocked her over, sitting on top of her and landing blow after blow on the younger she-cat's muzzle, yet keeping her claws sheathed.

"You won't even fight with your claws like a true leader!" Hyacinthshade hissed, biting down on one of Wysteriastar's forepaws. She let out a screech of pain and jumped away, only to be intercepted by Amberlarch, who clawed her ears before grabbing her by her scruff and tossing her into the surrounding undergrowth. For a moment she lay there, darkness gathering at the end of her vision, but then she heard voices, and braced herself for another attack.

Amberlarch appeared from a holly bush, looking down at her in amusement. "Consider this a warning for what'll happen if you come back to the mountains. You are no longer welcome here. EclipseClan will rise up, more powerful and feared than what it was with you." His whiskers twitching, he padded away. she could hear him faintly, mewing, "Come on, let's leave her here to bleed out. I'll come up with a story on the way back. Maybe some dogs are around and attacked. Or maybe..." Their voices faded as they walked off. She tried to sit upright, but she could feel the energy being sucked out of her. Am I losing a life? She thought blankly. She couldn't tell. She was vaguely aware of the mist slowly clouding her eyesight. She could feel the tug of darkness, and after a moment of hesitation, she let herself fall into it.

Burnetpatch lay in the rocky clearing, enjoying the last few rays of sun on his pelt. A few tail-lengths away, he could see Pondpatch and Twigtail sorting out herbs while the sun was still out. Snatching a thrush from the fresh-kill pile, he trotted over to them, placing it down nearby.

[hi again! this is the farthest i got. honestly if i ever feel like it, i wouldnt mind writing more 'chapters', but thats a big 'Maybe'. Hope u liked it!]
