[R] Perfect Blue

So at midnight on my birthday I finally decided to watch Perfect Blue. It's something I had put off forever, coming back to the thought of watching it but never actually committing. And usually, when I encounter a situation such as this, I regret not watching it sooner, but in this case I wish the opposite. I kind of wish I watched it a little later. So I will. I'll watch it again in a week or so, and then probably again a few more times. As interesting as it is, much like Evangelion I feel as though I cannot possibly take in everything it wanted me to feel and think on the first viewing. It was also breathtaking, I wish I could draw all of the scenes from it. So many of the backgrounds especially were captivating. The panning shots of the city made me feel like a fly on the wall as I watching Mima shut out the world. I've often thought that a movie that makes me think is the best kind of movie, and when I'm done thinking I'll have to let you know if this is one of the best movies I've seen. It was definitely unforgettable, if nothing else.
