about iszak and his purpose

hey!!! idk i doubt anyone is really curious about the name i chose to use for this site and it’s importance to me. my name really isn’t iszak but i use it bc it’s masculine and it’s actually the name for my original character. it’s this nonhuman entity, sorta, that i project myself onto. so like i am him, he is me, but also not really. i guess he could be considered a persona. he is me but has all the qualities i wish i had. he’s me but also the complete opposite me. i can’t exactly live fully as my true self, at least not right now. but with iszak, i can be me. he can do the things he wants, he can express himself in way he wants, he is truly himself. 

it’s kind of a basic tv head character (profile picture) but the tv actually holds some significance. when i was younger, i had a box tv because my family was too poor to really keep up with the times and the rise of flat screen tvs. but honestly we didn’t need to upgrade. it was a good condition box tv and i was always so fascinated with how it looked. it was really just a basic box tv, think of any model and that was it. but for some reason i just loved it as a three/five year old. i learned how to use it with the buttons because the remote was forever gone. since i knew how to use it on my own, i had the freedom to watch what i wanted, to watch at whatever time, to change the channel anytime. i’ve just associated this object with freedom. so iszak as a whole just represents freedom. not much is really holding him back, he can work around things. 

the name itself is just based off an artist i follow on instagram. his name is isaac. i named the character isaac too but later changed the spelling to iszak because honestly, my favorite letter is ‘z’. it was nice being able to incorporate the letter into the name without changing it completely.
