Toxic Ties

Have you ever discovered that what you have with someone isn't a bond at all? It is a toxic tie between you and someone else due to the history you two have together? Whether it is a relationship or a friendship you cannot let go of this person because they know too much or you fall for their potential? Finding love and loyalty is such a hot commodity. It amazes me how someone's absence can either cause you pain or pleasure comparable to one's presence. You ask someone to leave you alone and when they do you crave their response, effort and attention. The things we settle for and tolerate for the taste of what we really want from companionship.
