Selamat pagiii.. It is time, once again.. for another grim tale from Pocchi's youth. (灬º 艸º灬) This one, somehow, involved Doki Doki Literature Club, which had just come out at the time...?
Huh, I guess I can hardly call it my youth, it was only 6 years ago. (///￣皿￣)○～ まあ、とにかく ...
When the game came out, it was all anyone was even talking about!! It was popular among all my friends, even the ones who didn't like dating sims.. and I was not much of a dating sim girl either. I was more of a.. 'falling off of cliffs in Zelda' type girl!! (≧∇≦)ﾉ But I was hearing about it nonstop online, and even at school.. so, one of my friends brought it up to me in art class. Usually, we only played Pokemon together .. but we ended up talking a lot more once DDLC came out!! We both got it and played it - but, since we didn't really have each other's contacts outside of school, instead we'd meet up during art ... we were the only kids at our group's table, so we would huddle together like it was a secret meeting...
" (￢︿̫̿￢☆) So.. did you see those eyeballs...? Totally creepy ... "
This went on for a couple of weeks, but eventually, we both beat the game. But we were still so excited about it!! (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`) We couldn't just move on!! But, my dear friend .. he heard a rumor that something would happen if you deleted Monika's files, but since we were both a bit younger, we were terrified to actually do it. I worked up the nerve to do it, since we were both so curious.. and I said "Don't worry. I'll do it. (►__◄)"
I went home, and .. deleted the file! Honestly, it's been a while since I played - something happened, but funny enough, I don't remember what. (≧∀≦)ゞ That game scared me so bad though, I'd play it every day after school since I was home alone, but, then again, I was home alone. ( ͡ ' ˍゝ͡ ' ) So, I'd have my dog sit on my lap (in her little knit sweater since it was winter), and we'd play together. I went to school the next day, and we both gasped about what happened after I deleted the file. The day was completely normal..
I went to my next period. The PE classes were coming in because 'there was a fire' somewhere...
I went to the period after that. Everything reeked of smoke. Big plumes of it were coming up over the school.
During that period, since I had a window seat.. I looked outside through the blinds and there was FLAMES NOT FAR DOWN THE STREET GETTING CLOSER??? I panicked, standing up randomly, going.. "ｹﾞｯ!(꒪ꇴ꒪|||) T-teacher... the..."
I was cut off by the announcements, suddenly. One of the class leaders nervously mentioned there being a fire, so class was cancelled and we could all go home. Everyone started screaming and cheering, climbing on desks, hugging each other, breakdancing .. it was chaos. (#｀-_ゝ-) The fun of it didn't last long, though .. Less than 10 minutes later, I'm at the front of the school, and ash is raining down from the sky. My friends and I danced in it, saying "look, it's like a desert snowfall ...". Minutes passed on and on as everyone waited to go home. One of the classrooms had to evacuate their pet rabbit, so I sat with them and pet their rabbit while we waited.. Eventually, the smoke was so harsh that they moved us to the gym - just about everyone is either bawling their eyes out and shaking or calmly playing rock-paper-scissors, there's no in-between. (＠_＠;) (Can you guess what team I was!?)
I was pretty calm, considering what happened. After we left, the same gym we stayed in partially burned down.. but I didn't have PE at all that year since it was being rebuilt!!! (≧∇≦)ﾉ I eventually got shoved onto one of the buses, and I thought that would be the last of my issues... until... we got stuck in traffic leaving the fire zone. ( ͡ ' ˍゝ͡ ' )
Imagine, if you will, being stuck on a completely packed bus, shoved against the window in a seat of 3 people, stopped on a road with burning fields on either side. The fire wasn't close enough to be dangerous, but it was still so so hot!! The entire bus made a team effort to chant and beg the driver to turn the fan on..
Those mean eyes glinted at us through the mirror...
She flitted the fan on, and then...
...turned it onto herself. We were told to be quiet after that. ( ͡ ' ˍゝ͡ ' )
I was so relieved to get off.. (-。-; I really felt like one of those videos of slaughterhouse animals seeing the grass and the sky for the first time!! So, I walked back home, unscathed, and went to play DDLC again.. except, it wouldn't even open. (′д｀ )…彡…彡 It freaked me out to try and troubleshoot it, so I just left it alone and played with my dog until my parents came home. Immediately, the second they got in the door ...
"We have to evacuate. ㄟ(≧◇≦)ㄏ"
That was when the reality of it set in .. I started sobbing SO HARD THE ENTIRE TIME .. SHOVELING EVERYTHING I OWNED INTO DUFFEL BAGS.. (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`) We must've traveled until midnight to get to our hotel, and I cried and shook and hugged my dog the entire time. In the end - I ended up having a good time at the hotel .. and since Winter break was so close, we didn't come back to school for a full month! §(*￣▽￣*)§ My home ended up being completely OK, but the school was totally ravaged .. (。_。) Even now, the plants are still growing back. That fire ended up being a massive wildfire that started DIRECTLY next to my school - it cost about $9 mil in cleanup, burned so far, killed so much horses, destroyed so many neighborhoods.. That friend and I always joked that Monika was responsible.
5 Years Later ...
It's senior year, and my friend brought a Monika plush to class. Sensing a flashback .. i told her everything I told you here today. We laughed about it some more.. not even ten minutes later ..
( ͡ ' ˍゝ͡ ' ) Why is the fire alarm going off.
A fire started in the girl's bathroom .. it was quickly extinguished, but firefighters came, cops came, we had to stand outside for two hours..
Another super long blog.. WELL, in any case, I hope you can heed my warning!! If you break a digital girl's heart, she might set fire to the entire lower half of your state. So don't let it happen!! (′д｀σ)σ
