Okay, now I have your attention! ATP we all know the brand’s levels of modern slavery, waste & output are off the charts compared to other fast fashion brands are insane & that’s a big reason as to why people are so against it. Why else should you be so against it? Because it promotes consumerism, destroys fashion self-confidence in this gen & they also make shitty garments that are destined for the landfill in a month’s time. We are above suffocating in plastic shirts! “Oh but what about H&M-“ all fast fashion brands are bad! “What about an alternative option-“ thrift? Like everybody else on this site? You can repair & sew your own clothes (I hand-made some flares last month) with a cheap curtain from a charity shop if you wanted to. You can use Vinted for actually cheap prices (but don’t tell anybody that bc then they’ll be more expensive), or you could not just buy something new every week. 

It’s perfectly fine and normal to buy something every few months. Saving up for quality garments is a healthier, more sustainable option that curbs your spending addiction. The western working class’ right to remain up-to-date with micro trends doesn’t supersede fucking modern slavery. Call me elitist or classist, idc, bc no actual poor person is like “I just dumped 120 dollars on Shein! <3!” I’m working class & if you’re spending money on clothes the same rate as spending money on food, you are a victim of consumerism & you should stop. Nobody worth a damn is going to bully you over outfit repeating. I have 4 pairs of trousers, a few tops & 2 jackets which I saved over the course of 3 years & they’re great. It is fine to not give in to micro trends. If you don’t care about women & children working in obscene & filthy conditions for little money as much as you care about that heart top, just say so. You’re still an awful person, but at least you’re honest.

People may misread this on purpose to go “what about the poor” when half this post is about that excuse, so if you’re about to type that, just save your breath because chances are, you just need to admit you dgaf about the global south.
