EVERLONG - FOO FIGHTERS

Yes its very popular, its been popular since it came out, everlong by foo fighters has to be one of the best songs ever. Lyrically its a-mazing, instrumentally its even better, honestly it can fit any mood.

Dave Grohl wrote the song after a breakup, and he was mid way recording a different album as he was playing with the notes and melody of the song. The song comes from a place of vulnerability, Dave Grohl says he was in love, and him and his partner at the time always used to sing together, hence the lyrics "And I wonder When I sing along with you If everything could ever feel this real forever If anything could ever be this good again". The song kind of hints at this nostalgic feeling of when you are having a good time and thinking 'could i have feel this good again' as if spending time with people you love, or doing what you enjoy, is peak happiness.

I think dave grohls insight on music and feeling is amazing, and how everyone can like and sing the songs for different reasons. Not even talking about how well the band plays, they play the song with such emotion, even though dave grohl originally did the drumming himself, taylor hawkins absolutely destroyed every time he'd play it live (RIP). 

Overall, everlong is one of the many masterpieces of the 90's and im obsessed with foo fighters, everlong is the gateway for almost all new fans. LIVE LAUGH LOVE FOO FIGHTERS.
