And of course, I forgot to bring my motor controllers from my brother’s house. I should’ve fucking known but moving from house to house is just so damn stressful. I hate it. I’ll have to wait until Monday when I swing down south to pick up my brother. There I can pick up my motor controllers and try to work on the robot on Tuesday.
I can maybe try to work on the Pan+tilt camera portion of the robot, just so my weekend isn’t entirely wasted. My motion sensor “tripwire” is going well too, but it was also missing a component, which I ordered earlier, and will be arriving later this afternoon. At the very least, I can potentially focus on my tripwire project, so next week I can dedicate most of my time to the telepresence robot.
My new soldering irons are doing well and I’ve been making sure to keep good care of them this time.
I tried to work on my dad’s chicken coop pulley thing to get the doors to close. The chickens were freaking out from my presence as I struggled in the dark. Whenever I tried to use a light from my phone, it just attracted moths towards me. It was also raining. Figures.
At the very least, I managed to get the door closed a bit, so that’s fine I think. I could maybe try to create a Bluetooth/wireless wench system to automate his pulley system, and another pan+tilt camera system could be used to check the yard for any chickens that failed to return to the coop. This way I can manage the chickens to some degree while being 30+ miles away at work. Feeding and giving water could also be automated to some degree.
If I get my motion sensor tripwire machines to work, then I could tell where movement is as long as I place a sensor somewhere. There will be two, so for example, I can tell if someone is at the front door area, or if someone is at the back door area. I can’t see them or anything, but I’ll know they’re in the general area.
Later I’ll add a third motion sensor tripwire but one that uses a Bluetooth camera to allow me to see live feed of the area. I could maybe put that in a strategic area of the house so that I see both the living room, part of the kitchen, the hallway and the base of the stairs. Either of the two sensors can tell me where a being is, and the camera can more accurately pinpoint where they are.
