.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡HOW TO CUSTOMIZE UR PHONE♡*⁠｡⁠. (for Android)

Hiii!!!

I've been using android supported phones my whole live and I'm kinda upset that they still haven't added anything like the widget thing that the iOS/iPhone has.

WORRY NOT!!! I still found a way how to customize Ur phone and make it more cute/aesthetic.

This is my phone home screen with personalized app icons and the android system (lit everything, notif, settings, other apps and muxh more) colour coded to my aesthetic.

I will walk you through how to make this. Cuz hot ppl don't gatekeep!!<3

IF U ARE AT ANY POINT NOT SURE/CONFUSED PLS ASK!!!! I PROMISE I WILL ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS, even if they seem dumb to u.

⊹˚. ♡CHAPTER 0: What ya need (+My app icons)

What u need the most is aesthetic u wanna go for. If Ur not really sure what is Ur aesthetic try this quiz, it fit me pretty well and isn't writtent by someone in their mid 30s.

So, What are the materials??

Well, practically, background wallpapers and app icon photos. Best to find them is on Pinterest, literally just search for (Ur aesthetic) app icons. There are also tons of tiktok videos on this topic.

I have mine as pngs but u don't have to.

.｡⁠*ﾟ⁠+✿CHAPTER 1: Colour coordinating android shi

MATERIALS: Wallpapers

Now, secret to this is just having cool ass wallpaper.

Let's set it up!!!

Go to: Settings>Wallpaper and Style

Should look like this:

If not, click on the 'Colour Palette' and turn in on.

It should give you colour palette based on Ur wallpaper, and you can also chose from basic colours.

Tryout as many as u like, but don't forget to tur on the 'Apply palette to app icons'!!!

The click 'Apply' to save it!!!! (⁠◍⁠•⁠ᴗ⁠•⁠◍⁠)⁠✧⁠*⁠。

๑⁠♡✿♡⁠๑ CHAPTER 2: APP ICONS

MATERIALS:

App: Shortcut maker

Okay, so there is more ways to do this. Samsung actually has this feature called Themes, where for free or for about 2 USD you can download theme that changes Ur phone icons.

I'm not a big fan, it's giving 2016/17.

But it's the easier way.

You can find Themes as pre-installed app on Ur phone.

With this out of way, let's look at the more tedious process.

Install Shortcut maker rn. Don't look at the reviews it's perfect.

Go to Ur home screen and hold it until u have this.

Click widgets and find Shortcut maker.

Hold and drag the Standard version to place u wanna have it at (can be move later dw).

The this should open.

Literally heaven ,(s)creamingggg everytime I see the PoSsiBiLiTiEs. (It's the 'Tism)

But we are on the mission rn, no distractions.

Click on Apps to advance.

A list of all apps you have will show, but you can only choose one at time.

I'm choosing the, the goat itself, the Shortcut maker.

There is three things you can do.

Numéro Uno: Lock it, to unlock it u have to use fingerprint or whatever u use to unlock Ur phone. Handy for hiding stuff.

Numéro dos: Change the name.

Numéro très: Change the icon.

Click on it.

Now you can do so many things with it.

Here's a list:

Wanna use text or emoji as icon click 'Text/Emoji Icon' (pretty straightforward)

Wanna use  Ur prepared materials (pics) u probs stole from Pinterest, click 'Gallery image'

Wanna change the shape, click 'style' (the Heart is so cute)

Wanna change the background, click 'Themed'

And so much more!!! Play around with it for a bit.

Then simply tap on the Nike thingy (I forgor how do u call it in English💀)

Don't  forget to SMASH that 'create Shortcut' button and share this to Ur grandparents so they will also know how to customize their own app icons.

(⁠´⁠∩⁠｡⁠•⁠ ⁠ᵕ⁠ ⁠•⁠｡⁠∩⁠`⁠) CHAPTER 3: Widgets (apps)

This chapter is just short interlude in our story. Just got get to widgets and pick the cutest one. Lol

Lot of them (YouTube, Spotify and etc.) are in the colour palette u chose earlier.

The main task is changing the colour of the Google search bar.

Tap and the search bar as normal. And then click on the Google logo.

Then click on Ur profile picture and go to settings.

Scroll down, find the 'Search widget' and click on it.

Click on the 'Customise widget'

And do whatever you like.

Noooowww, we gonna look on how to make the photo widget.

I'm talking about the hello kitty earrings thing, the picture can change with time.

Let's start!! Open the app and tap 'photo widget'

Chose out the size u want DON'T CLIK THE 'ADD WIDGET' BUTTON YET!!!!!

Instead, tap the plus on the grey square (u have no idea how long it took me to spell this one fcking word right smh).

A, lets say, catalogue of ur photos will show, pick to ur heart's content and click done.

Now u can click 'add widget'.

And ur done, so easy.

⋆˚☆˖°CHAPTER 5: Keyboard

MATERIALS: This lovely app.

I love this app so much, yes its a google product and Google is big bad corporation (fr is). But, the language switching is sooo goood. Im someone who on daily basis writes in four different languages and three different alphabets. this is livesaver. It has lot of other usefull features like, voice to text and pretty big asortment of kamojis.

To change the ur keybord to gboard, tap the little keyboard down in right corner. And to switch colours, click the palatte above the letters i and o. There is a lot of colour and such to chose from.

Btw the formating competly fell apart like, one of the screenshots is floating in outer space(hey).
