Tech Entry 3

My friend Michael is working on multiple AI projects it seems, mainly the AI nicknamed “Athena”. However, he is still working with me on our own AI, a new project that he wants only the two of us to work on. I don’t think it’s too realistic, but he is after all a sort of prodigy, and I imagine he can just use the other AI’s he has rights to. Already the AI in question can overlay mapping over what its visual sensors can see, detecting faces and so on, as well as guessing information about what it has detected. 

This morning he showed me something unsettling.

It was an audio file generated by our AI. I listened to it, and it was incredibly disturbing. I could only describe it as the greatest form of torture. I still think about the crying and wailing it made, and that wasn’t the worst of it. I asked Michael for context, and he did not respond. 

Tomorrow is the weekend, and I’ll be working on my telepresence robot, which will eventually be the first physical body for our AI. It shouldn’t yet have actual emotions, or it’s parallels to ours at least, so hopefully it won’t make that horrible sound again.
