Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem

Honestly, this film was pretty good! The animation was stunning (especially during particular fight scenes), and its grungy art style suits the streets of NYC quite well. The voice actors also killed it, especially the ones for the turtles. The chemistry between them is believable, and their voices fit the designs and characterizations very well! The soundtrack also slapped, with a few standouts I can't wait to stream until they become earworms.

My only issue was Splinter himself. Look, I see what they were trying to do with him in context of the film's themes, and the character arc he goes through itself is quite sweet. The vibe just feels off, and I can't quite tell if it was due to Jackie Chan's voiceover work or the script... Something just feels off with his character in the film's overall vibe, though his relationship with his sons was believable and portrayed very well. The more I think about it, the more I think it's an issue with the script having to go heavy-handed on his hatred of humans due to the film's audience being primarily children.

Overall though, it was very enjoyable, and I can't wait to see what's next for our favorite turtles!
