making gifts for my pets (crochet)

ok since I got back from my trip one of my dogs gave birth and were now taking care of 2 newborn puppies AND my cat got pregnant and she's soo big so I think she's prob gonna give birth sometime this week maybe 

anyways, I've picked up crocheting when covid hit but tbh im not that great at it and didn't know what to make. also I was limited to 2 yarn colors and the yarns were not the same size so when I tried to do a 2 yarn color thing (the checkered pattern) it was alright but obv not as pretty as the example ones in videos. but anyways so I've had my practice crochet things (squares, but I have made more things beside that) laying around in my room and the new born puppies were crying and they had to keep warm so I gave it to them. it was cute and idk if it helped that much but now I just want to make some for them, ik how to do tunisian crochet so I did that but my stick was one of the smaller ones. anyways now I have a small light blue blanket thing but I also got a bigger crochet stick and more yarn (light and normal pink) so ima make a bigger light pink one and maybe some for my cats babies idk
