Sledgehammer games are heading up main development for modern warfare 3 for the second time in their life and its kinda poetic, both times is because IW screwed up.
Anyways a few weeks ago we recieved a few screenshots from modern warfare 3 and, wow it is basically just scrapped DLC from MW2, still i wouldn't say I'm not excited, even if they screwed up with vanguard that game is still alot of fun when you ignore all the tacky non WW2 stuff and I feel MW3 will probably be the same only now with a ton of really cool weapons I actually appreciate from this peroid of time. I mean already the screenshots confirmed:
- MCX SPEAR (Battle Rifle)
- CZ Bren 2 BR (Battle Rifle)
- AK 101 (Assault Rifle - 5.56x45mm NATO)
- QBZ 97 (Assualt Rifle - 5.56x45mm NATO)
- F2000 (Assault Rifle - 5.56x45mm NATO)
- ACR (Assault Rifle - 5.56x45mm NATO)
- CZ Bren 2 (Assault Rifle - 5.56x45mm NATO)
- UMP-45 (??? Uses MW19s LWRC name but clearly a UMP) (Submachine Gun - .45ACP)
- UMP-9 (Submachine Gun - 9mm Parabellum)
- UZI (Submachine Gun - 9mm Parabellum)
Also the Zastava M76, AR 50 (??), Chukavin SVCh, AXMC.
There is also apparently the Scorpion EVO3 and Berreta 93R coming from previous leaks but there wasn't any screenshots.
All this put together gives a slightly more compelling launch weapon list then Modern Warfare 2s, which seeing how all of this was meant to be DLC for Modern Warfare 2, makes sense.
I was gonna hold off buying new cod games for a year but then they annonuced all your MW2 stuff is carrying over to MW3 and the fact I can have a full MCX platform is too much so I'll probably get it around october for my birthday.
Sledgehammer have alot to prove from Vanguard but I believe it will most likely be way better recieved due to the fact its not a WW2 game and I think that sledgehammer will try to revamp the movement like then did on Vanguard, which would bring alot of movement players back to the game.
There was also a leak that the launch maps are all MW2, MW3 and such remakes, there was two images floating around of Terminal and Scrapyard, so it might be true. If so I just hope that it isn't only remakes of maps we already had remade: Crossfire (COD4), Village (MW3), Seatown (MW3), Countdown (COD4), Bog Beach (COD4R), Downpour (COD4).
Overall all this put together makes me extremely curious about MWIII, hoping it will go well as the weapon list and maps so far seem pretty good, We'll just have to see. but the carry over of MW2 stuff will atleast give the game a massive weapon list on release.
