The key to style is attitude!
School’s starting up for a lot of people soon so I thought I’d share my secrets to dressing your best!! (or at least better than your peers…)
( ˘ ^˘ )=3
Now before I get into any talk about styling I want to make one important thing clear, THERE IS NO NEED TO BUY A WHOLE NEW CLOSET FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR!! Sure one or two new quality pieces are always a nice addition but I believe that buying tons of new clothes at once will do nothing but hinder your personal style growth. I also advocate for hopping on trends late or not at all. This way you can truly think about what you buy before wasting money on something you don’t like. However, it’s not my business what you buy so I’ll mind my own when I see someone posting a back to school haul full of current trends (which will likely go out of style in the next month but who am I to judge, truly?)

First things first, picking out staple pieces that you can wear over and over again and style in many different outfits is a great way to build a cohesive school wardrobe! We all have different styles so your everyday basics may vary, but they can include hoodies, cardigans, graphic t-shirts, jeans, or even accessories like belts and bracelets. You want to find something that will complement your look as well as your personality. Keep in mind that when you pick out your staple pieces to look back at outfits you’ve made in the past and use that as inspiration for the future. It shouldn't be too much of a struggle, so don’t overthink it.

Once you pick out your lovely staples, look for some more unique items that you wouldn’t wear everyday but still enjoy. Keep in mind to know your boundaries with clothing. It can be easy to create bold outfits on paper and then feel like a fish out of water when you wear them out in public, so find and wear clothing you feel comfortable in.

Here are some Pinterest boards that I use for fitspo! These boards have different styles and aesthetics so I encourage looking through them and taking bits and pieces from wherever you like! I hope these pics get your fashion gears turning and inspire you to strut the hallway like a runway!
