Water on My Skin

The feeling of water on my skin is fulfilling. I love the feeling of the cold water pricking my skin, and falling through the crevices of my fingers. I feel alive the moment water touches my veins, as if it itself is running through them. Tiny shards of ice seep into my hands and run into my arm.

I feel alive.

The sharp pain of the freezing water has never bothered me. I am thankful for the earth to allow me to bask in its most prized possession.

As my body goes numb from the frigid pool of sorrows, I can finally be at peace. I let the ice run over me and consume me as I accept what I have become.

I am free.
