Laeruam is quiet for awhile. I don't know what he's thinking. I'll be really surprised if he doesn't run. Why would anyone take on my baggage?

He breaks the silence first. " I meant what i said in there, Maureal. No one will touch you. I'd kill them first!, he growls.

I step forward and kiss him. Just a peck on the lips. But he has other ideas. He grabs me around the waist and pulls me into him. He takes my mouth in a demanding way and my legs turn to jelly. Our tongues dual with each other's and I hear him growl. I whimper and he picks me up and sets me on the hood of his truck. I can't get enough of him. I need him.

I break the kiss and take a breath. I can't be doing this. Not right now. I need to deal with this issue before going any further.

I look up at Laeruam and see he's breathing hard. " I can't go any further. Not right now." I take a breath and look around at the town again. It's peaceful.

"I need to deal with my husband. Why would you get involved with someone like me?", I ask.

Laeruam says, " Because Maureal, you're my mate.
