i started my .hack
series replay last year, so this is a carry over since then. mutation
feels short when i consider the plot points themselves that happen, but i
clocked in 67 total hours of play time, so....
i think mutation is
when some of the sore spots of the original quadrilogy start rearing
their head. theres padding in a few spots, like having to grind for virus
cores. i had to stop and do this twice before the 2nd to last and last
dungeon which just really killed the momentum

the dungeons start
getting *long* in this one, i had to run through the final dungeon twice
because magus folded me and its a 5 floor dungeon with a lot of
mandatory tough fights. it’s still manageable, like it hasnt reached
quarantine levels of pain, but still
i really like how the
game ends, though. following up on the mystery of infection, the game
only plays further on how little you understand anything right when you
thought you had some leads by making everything fucked at the end (and
during the postgame it all STAYS fucked!)

anyways,
once im wrapped up with the bonus dungeon and getting all the rare
equips from it im gonna move onto outbreak, my fav part
actually there’s quite a few things in the postgame i forgot, whoops. ill do those too!
