I feel like the 90s were really the peak of music. Sure the 2000s had some great bands but in the 90s it was all so condensed. You had a lot of good genres becoming popular such as Grunge, Shoegaze and BritPop. Electronic music as well!!! Björk, Underworld and The Pump Panel were all iconic! (And Radiohead to a certain extent since the Kid A sessions were in 1999.)

While I may disagree, and say the 1920s was CRUCIAL! (and, of course, how great the 40s was!)
For 90s, I'll pitch in Jane's Addiction's BRILLIANT album Ritual De Lo Habitual!
True but sadly there aren't many recordings of those times and if there are, they are definitely degrading with every day that it's not getting found and uploaded to an archive.

Oh there are THOUSANDS of recordings from those times! A treasure trove!
Sure, some have degraded, some lost, but more and more they are being preserved, cleaned up, digitized, and available! Mind you, recording technology advances by leaps and bounds every decade, but here's only one channel with a ton of stuff and more being uploaded all the time
