Fighting games

I hate the fact some players discourage beginners in fighting games bc they suck :( everytime i start a new fighting game 90% of the time i leave because im scared of embarassing myself or my team mates if its a game like tf2... Can we like not discourage beginners? Sorry if it sounds like im just being bratty lolz
