AI's a scary concept TO ME and i don't think it's instilling fear in people the way it should....

bc for one i refuse to believe capitalism is draining us so bad that, collectively, people would prefer art made by a computer and a couple key words rather than an actual human being. it might sound corny but irdgaf cuz humans have relied on the craftsmanship of art since the beginning of time for pretty much every aspect of life, including entertainment, and yet there's even music being deliberately made from AI too. 

like idk it's really terrifying what people could do with stuff like deepfakes and it's concerning for a multitude of reasons, but primarily how it affects women. idk if u guys have been on twitter or anything, but what people have been doing is disgusting. like i'm disgusted that in whatever space, even in relatively new technology, women are somehow always put in degrading and nonconsensual situations. and it could really just get so much worse with the way things are going.

idk how to really explain it, and i'm sure people could put it into words much better than i can, but with the comfortability of social media culture with its link to consumer culture, people have begun to lack empathy and humanity on so many levels. and i think where u could see that the most is with the response to AI and what it's being used for. 

like someone could easily take the sound of ur voice and make u say smth u never would imagine, and the same goes with every other human action u could think of. it's FRIGHTENING. 

this is kind of all over the place, but bare with me cuz my main point is that people need to NOT get so comfortable, even in a joking way, with AI.
