First off - Don't call yourself gross girlie. It literally just makes you feel worse. Second, here are some actual tips from someone who went through the same thing:
- Dress in styles that make you happy. It may take a bit and it may only be a couple pieces of clothing for a while, but presenting yourself how you wanna be perceived can help so much. And remember that accessories make the outfit! a nice piece of jewelry can be the difference between an okay outfit and a great one.
- Take care of yourself!! If you feel like your skin or hair is gross (trust me been there) make sure you're using routines and products beneficial to your hair and skin type. a lil bit of education of this stuff goes a long way. For example, try to avoid shampoos with parabens, they'll strip your hair of wayyy too much of its natural oils making it look duller, get thinner, and get oiler faster cause your body is trying to compensate instead of hydrating your hair.
- Don't let your limitations define you. As much as I'd love to be a 6'5" goth super model its not gonna happen for me, but that doesn't mean I can't still be goth or look hot. I simply have to work around my height and that's okay! everyone's built different, so dressing for your body type regardless of style is super important. And that DOES NOT mean covering up if you're insecure. Try looking into "the rule of thirds" in fashion, incorporate different textures into your outfits, and keep to a colour scheme. It's all small stuff but when you put it together you'll start to feel a lot more confident about your appearance, regardless of whether you think you're "traditionally beautiful" or not.
Hope this helps hun, you'll figure it out <3 (also girls with glasses are super cute, it'll grow on you)
