Yamato-Class Battleships

Hey y'all Taro here to randomly spew some facts about shit I know

Today we, by we I mean me and the council of voices within my head, shall tell you about the Yamato-Class Battleships, consisting of the Yamato and the Musashi. I know the Yamato-Class having a battleship named the Yamato is weird.
We'll be focusing on the Yamato, as it is the most well documented and most well known of the two battleships. First let us talk about the etymology of the name "Yamato", the name derives from the archaic name for Japan but it could also refer to the Yamato period in Japanese history which stood for "Great harmony", which is ironic for the name of a battleship from a nation who started the whole damn World War Two, thank you Japan.
Anyways, the Yamato was built for the Imperial Japanese Navy to counter the United States overwhelming naval superiority due to sheer number. So they countered it by pure size. As both her and her sister ship were the heaviest and most powerfully armed battleships to ever be constructed.
Now why was she, a very powerfully armed and armored ship not able to defeat the navy? Simple, the Japanese were too proud or were too much of a coward to take their prized ship out into strong battles till the very end where the United States were the most powerful. Similar to how someone might never take a figure out of a box because it might damage their precious.
Anyways, she rarely saw any action till the end where her final mission was to get beached and fight till dead. This was Operation Ten-Go or Operation Heaven-One, where all ships knew this was a one way trip to Okinawa, and there she sunk along with her crew. She was beautiful while she lasted. Funnily enough that operation was the last major battle at sea during the war.
Thus in the end, it shows that the United States naval and aerial army were too strong for the Japanese, and thus after this, many countries switched over to constructing aircrafts over battleships and destroyers.
If you were wondering, the Musashi also got sunk earlier than Yamato.

Anyways, its 7:45am I have been awake for so long, just wanted to get that rant out. Next time on Taro's late night/ early morning rants you'll either get to listen to me rant about one of three things in no particular order: Some random Transformer none of y'all ever seen or heard about, the JNR Class D51 Steam Locomotive, or the cancelled rival to the Japanese Yamato Class' Yamato is the Montana-Class BB-66 Montana which was planned to be built by the U.S.

Goodnight/ Good morning y'all, eat and rest well or else.
P.S. any minor spelling mistakes or grammatical errors was an accident I was just tired alright?
