A sonnet:

Sandbags of memory crash in on my spine

Our shared conundrum has reached its line

The final words spoke can never be spoken again

I will await a person like you, someone to call a friend.

And if there's a day we once again embrace,

please be aware the strength of our fate

I cannot believe that this is the end

The impact we left will forever amend

Within my heart I'll always hold space,

Where your essence lingers; I'll remember your face.

I'm lucky even temporarily

our destiny aligned; won't be easy

moving on this time.

If only our bond was more opportune,

I know I could have been yours by next June;

This seperation was not one I'd fear,

I just couldn't predict when it'd be here.
