idk if this is exactly what youre looking for but the first book i thought of was "wuthering heights" by emily bronte. its one of my favourite books ever and its a very tragic and heavy love story, if you could even call it that, cause its more about obsession and lots of hatred too. the atmosphere and the characters are also very interesting. rlly recomend it!!! some lighter ones i thought about was "the seven husbands of evelyn hugo" (which is more of a literary fiction romance i guess?) and "aristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe". they are very nice and i remember crying when reading it (and very different from my first recommendation)
