so first of all i rlly do love this platform, its filled with many amazing, wonderful people. but theres a serious problem ive seen lately which is blatant p3dopheli@ on here in the form of adults using their accounts to seek out minors for sexual relationships and, which in some ways was more shocking to me, was children as young as 11 trying to use their accounts to meet adults. if u have been using this site for any amount of time i can guarantee that u have come across these accounts.
spacehey needs to step up their game in protecting children. i understand that its nearly impossible to monitor every single thing that happens on a sight as big as this, but the amount is disgusting and vile and so out in the open that it makes this sight more unsafe every day for young people.
this is just a message to bring this to the attention of newer people here, or even those of u that were not aware. double check accounts that ur friends with (not that its at all ur fault if u find that some friends u have have these things on their profile, some are alot more disguised than others) many people on here, including myself , are minors and we shouldnt have to take this many precautions to simply use a sight which we started using to be creative, meet kind people that share our interests and just have a good time.
thats all i wanted to say, and ive seen afew people talk about this already but we need to bring this to spaceheys attention, however i fully believe they know this already, they just havent done anything yet.

I agree. I love that SpaceHey is largely AD free, but I wouldn't be opposed to SpaceHey allowing ADs if that meant they could hire more moderators, or any. Last I checked, outside of our founder, the only other two mods are volunteers. And whilst that may work for very small communities (and admittedly we aren't the largest in the little social media sphere), it is far from enough at this point. I know that SpaceHey has merch that they sell to make money, and that's cool, but it would be great if moderators could be hired, or atleast more volunteers could, well, volunteer. I do very much enjoy the non-creepy side of SpaceHey though, I want to make that clear.
yeahh thats a great point, i wouldnt mind at all if they showed ads if it meant that there coukd be afew people checking up on things. we can report users and bring awareness but unfortunatly thered a very limited amount of things us users can do. and its a shame cus i love this sight so much and i want it to do well but theres some things on here thats hard to justify

Ye. I've been considering looking into volunteering to be a moderator sometime within the next year or two, but I'm not 100% set with that. We shall see what happens though. And plus I'll have university to go to so I'd have to work around that aswell.
