I went to go and see the latest Barbie movie with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling and it was fantastic! I laughed the whole way through and even felt really sad at times, but all inย all the movie was a great hit. Margot Robbie was perfect as Barbie and its gotten to the point where I think I will only recognize her AS Barbie from now on lol.
There were a lot of meta jokes in the movie as well, considering this is a film about a real doll and stuff. I won't give away anything involving the plot because honestly going in with just the knowledge of "This is a movie about Barbie" is enough for someone to enjoy it.
The music was also very catchy I did like that as well, but my only real gripe about the film is that while it got all the aesthetics on point and everything, I do feel as if the movie was a bit too preachy at times. It didn't deliver it's message in a subtle way, and would just outright say what they were trying to get across to the audience. I prefer movies that lead the audience along with hints and clues as to what the message is, but it's fine honestly the rest of the movie was just very good.
I saw it with my family, and we all liked (except my dad he hates pink girlie things and we had to drag him to go see it lol) I even dressed up in all pink with my mom and sister, and after the film was over with we recounted a bunch of Barbie's we used to play with when we were little. They had all of the Barbie's we played with in the movie! I owned a Mermaid Fairy Princess Barbie, I owned a "Popstar" Barbie, I even had a purple convertal for her to drive in and everything, however the purple sports car wasn't in the film sadly.
There were still a lot of other Barbie's, however, and I feel this movie was made for the doll lovers and collectors. There were times were they legitimately flashed text explaining the authenticity of some of Barbie's clothing and which Barbie the actors were playing. I liked these parts because it was pretty interesting to see just how many Barbie's there were (More than I thought that's for certain!) While the movie isn't a musical, there is one song that is sung by one character, and it's a very silly song lol.
I won't spoil it though like I said this movie is so much fun when you have no idea what's coming next, and everyone really did a great job acting in the film! Idk if I'll see Oppenheimer I am not that interested in history, but I here lots of people are going to want to see that as well this summer.
I have Barbie Girl stuck in my head now lol <3

Omg that sounds like so much fun! I can't wait to watch it :) I always think of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn so I'm super curious to see which I think of her as after seeing her as Barbie
