cool albums for cool people pt.2

Decker - Skeletons with Beautiful Skins

So in the last post I mentioned an artist called Dr. Steel - this album is (I believe) one of his earliest works, way before the Dr. Steel persona was uploaded. In a previous interview he talked about NIN being one of his inspirations and I hear it 1000%. Unbelievably this was the first time he used a computer to create his music... I couldn't tell, I guess, because this album is so intoxicating in its use of industrial tracks, gritty sound and that dystopian feel. As someone who's practically grown up with his music, this album is a treat to listen to. It's as if you're looking through the past of an idol or famous figure, their humble beginnings...

Red Vox - Another Light

My comfort album. My comfort streamer, no less. I discovered the band from watching Vinesauce streams, of course, and my life has been downhill since /j . Red Vox is of those bands that I can confidently say has helped me during some rough times. A bushel of indie rock where you can feel the dirt in your ears and a troubled man with a guitar guiding the listener into the broken undergrowth, exploring abandoned relics with lyrics that make you pause for a second. One second, a lighthearted tale and the next soul-crushing reality, the inner workings of the human experience. You just sink into the sounds, man.

Psychonaut 4 - Beautyfall

Oh man, wow. Black metal isn't usually my go-to genre, but there are some albums that I latch onto, this being one of them. Now, I don't really know how to describe or rate this in a convincing manner, but for anyone into black metal / DSBM I'd suggest this gem.

haircuts for men - パステル勾配

um um hi??? this is ??? oh ????

god this band has sounds from another universe, I come back from time to time and reminded to how brilliant this artist is. electronic music that floats your spirit into a whole nother area of life. such a calming mix, the opening track alone sent me into an audial coma with how jazzy and smooth it was. imagine the most aesthetically designed, 70s something retro mall, something of other. IT IS SMOOTH and oh man groovy WOW ??? this is the summer playlist, if you want to feel summer this is summer. a beach summer. the ambiance.

HFM is not a band, just one guy working with samples! He's inspired a whole genre called barber beats, which is full of immaculate music.
