i got it working!

i was able to get my linux os and some programs running on the virtual machine! it took a couple of hours  of messing around but i'm super happy with the progress i made, really excited to learn more!!

hopefully with a few more hours of fiddling i'll know enough and be able to try a full install on my desktop, i'm really anxious to make the switch!
