Horror Film Recommendations

Leaving this up over time so no matter how old it is I'm down for more.

Getting to it, if anyone has some good Horror film/Slasher film recommendations I'd love to have em bc I wanna have a backlog to watch. Like I said I mainly like Slashers, but any horror will do. (Even lesser known ones I tend to like em as well!!!)

If knowing what I like rn helps, I utterly ADORE Scream (mainly the older ones) (obv), The Rise of Leslie Vernon, Tragedy Girls. I've seen the first Elm street and the first Halloween film as well but I just wanna expand what I know especially in the Slasher side of things. Even if ur films don't have slashers gimmie em, I'm neurodivergent as fuck dawg.

bodies bodies bodies is a slasher movie, but it's kind of a comedy too? the premise is that it's a group of friends who are having a hurricane party and one of them gets murdered. it's kind of a satire(?) on gen z too idk how to explain but it's good

the thing (1982) is a sci-fi horror flick that isn't really scary in the conventional sense, instead it makes you feel dread and paranoia. guys in antarctica encounter an alien that knows how to replicate people, and they aren't sure who's human and who's not. it partially inspired among us, too!

re-animator is another sci-fi horror movie, and it's kind of similar to frankenstein. a medical student named herbert west is obsessed with making a serum that brings people back to life. content warning for sexual assault, but it's a scene that can be skipped.

Check out some Giallo films if you like slashers, one of my favorite ones is Bird with the Crystal Plumage, but most people start with Deep Red. If you haven't seen The Burning it is one of the best camp slashers of all time with an unfortunate writing credit given to Harvey Weinstein, but absolutely lands as a great slasher. Also Jason Alexander is in it as one of the weirdest roles i've ever seen him play.
