ummm so maybe contraversial (idk how to spell) but portals isnt that good of an album, the theme is just meh and i feel like she could have better executed the theme of crybabys death and rebirth, like k-12 was so beautiful and perfect at expanding on crybabys life that you think a topic like her death would be executed perfectly. dont get me wrong the songs are good, but im not a fan of the overly auto tuned voice, like the autotune isnt that much but its definetly a bit more than needed.
also can we talk about how she said shes taking a 4 YEAR break after her tour, like i get its been 4 years in between each album (crybaby to k-12 has the exuse that she was still a new artist finding her feet, and k-12 to portals with covid) but shes now a really popular artist in her 'prime' taking a 4 year break is just going to make her lose fans even the most loyal fans will get a wee bit irritated. where is the line from taking a break to let the skills marinate and pure procasonation ans laziness?
any ways i still love melanie and will stream her album when im 19/20 when studing for my degree (scary)

I mean i get where ur coming from but breaks arent always to let skills marinate, shes a person n needs time to herself too, but i get what ur sayin overall, ive listened to a handful of the new songs and i like em but theyre deffo very different than the other stuff

I understand you, I feel that with the passing of the albums his songs are less and less memorable. Not bad, but I don't think they're as iconic as they used to be. I understand that an artist changes his sound and concept over time but I think at this point in her career I gradually lost interest in her music.
