blog intro/me talking about my interests

bleehh ive been here for a year now but i think i should make an actual intro post lolsies.. cuz i love talking about myself. read if you so wish! if you dont.. just look through my profile. UPDATE: this was meant to be a blog intro but it kinda just went into me talking about my interests. whatever! no more blog intro.

hello!!! i am rookie, im a trans dude from portugal. i love music (i'll probably talk about that a LOT!), art, and old web stuff. i really really love windows xp (and windows 7... but mostly windows xp). i am really into that kinda 2000s-early 2010s aesthetic... as well as the internet culture. i really love the nintendo ds, too, and i've even got a small collection of ds games... i hope to own a ds one day, but my brother says its dumb to have a 3ds and a ds... so i'll wait until im older.

music is basically my whole life. i cant be a second without music. my family always says i hate new technology, but man, is bluetooth the best. combining my extreme old web addiction with music... well. i'm currently trying to download every single song on my spotify playlist so i can listen to them on winamp and/or windows media player. its not going well, cuz... well. it gets tiring having to go through my excel spreadsheet, search the album on soulseek, make a folder for the artist, and then a folder for the album... and then put those into windows media player... aahhh!!! well, the basics: my favourite bands are the clash, the pogues, the specials, talking heads, and they might be giants. im extremely obnoxious about music so i need to clarify that 99% of my music taste i got from my parents! i hate 'i listened to (...) before they were popular!' music gatekeepers but... ive got a little bit of that in me. i got it from my dad. so basically everything 'cept for oingo boingo, lemon demon, jack stauber, logan whitehurst & the junior science club, and yfm i got from my dad. those i just listed i got from youtube reccomendations or friends.

now onto art: i've been drawing since i was, like, 2. and i remember, even at that age, i still had some ocs of my own... they were a blue protagonist circle, a green nerdy square, and a yellow girl triangle. they were a group of friends that got up to adventures. now in 2023 i still make characters and stories, but this time its a bit more serious. its a story called cultcraze, i draw the characters a lot. its like, sci-fi, kinda. its about a big space cult trying to destroy the universe. but dont worry, its not dark and scary. im too pussy to do that! i usually just draw the characters being goofy and/or gay. aside from my ocs, i also really like art in general. i love drawing and i love how cool it is that humans can express themselves through art. i could spend hours at an art museum... though im not a traditional artist! i hate painting. im strictly digital... but that doesn't mean i dont find traditional art awesome. paintings are awesome. painting sucks. now follow me on instagram to see my art! @spiralsta1rcase! or tumblr, same username!

and finally, old web stuff! idk what got me into that stuff... maybe my obsession with old computers. but nevertheless, its a big obsession of mine. i've got a theme on my computer that makes it look like winxp, i've got a bunch of extensions that change the style of websites, i'm working on my own website, i'm using spacehey... but i've still got loads to do in my old web journey. finishing my website, of course, but i also wanna get an old computer or somethign in the future.. just for fun. i often find myself staring at computer monitors whenever im in any public place, like a shop or something. usually if theyre older. like, one time, i went to the dermatologist... and right in front of me... a very cool looking computer. i sneak a couple glances at it to try and memorise what its called, so i could google it - the dermatologist leaves the room! perfect. i stare directly at it and quickly google it - trinitron multiscan g200. i think ever since that day ive developed that habit. whenever im in a mall or something and it gets real boring, i just look around at the desks to see if they've got any cool monitors. anyway! old web. idk, i just really love old web. its weird, cuz i never really got to experience it... i think its cuz i used to look at a lot of flash animations and games. i also just really love the internet! like, im in 2023, and i could go look at something from, like, 2004. ...yeah, i know, they've got whole buildings full of stuff from waaayy earlier than that... yknow, museums. but still! its cool that i can look at something from, again, like 2004 and mess around with it as if it were 2004 (or as if it came out in 2023).

ooh! and another one i forgot to mention here... i really love video games. old video games, yeah, whatever. but i like video games in general, too. my favourite game of all time is undertale (deltarune is at 2nd place). its had such a huge impact on me  and you know what im just gonna talk about undertale. its basically the reason i got into making characters and stories... kinda. it kinda got me into fandoms as a whole, its the reason i love pixel art, the reason i love earthbound, the reason i love the snes, the reason i love retro games, the reason i love steven universe (yeah, i know, weird), which in turn is the reason my art style improved so much, and so much more.. i... i kinda think its the reason i know about gay people??? but. i think its such a cool game, but it kinda sucks that ive discovered everything there is to discover about the game... ive played it probably 100s of times now (ive got 348.1 hours on it) and i've watched and read every single 'unused content' 'easter eggs' 'concept art' 'hidden details' 'leitmotifs' 'out of bounds secrets' etc videos/posts that have ever come out about it. i wish i could forget all about undertale and re-learn everything there is to learn about it again. it sucks that i didn't go into the game blind.. i spoiled the entire game for myself right before i even got it! funny enough, i dont think i'd ever watched a single gameplay video - i just looked at stuff about it a lot. but that was enough to pick up the entire story, characters, all the endings.... whatever. i still love it. i dont think i'd be where i am in terms of art, interests, maybe even identity without it. not to say that undertale Turned Me Gay And Trans.

if you read all that then. um. awesome. thumbs up!
