Been there. Been RIGHT THERE with those same thoughts and feelings.
Not just at 14 years old, but then again in my mid twenties.
I'm in my 50s now, and I am SO GRATEFUL to be here! So much changes, and there's so much you can change if you want to.
No, it doesn't happen over night. Yes, it takes some serious work and there's some stuff that seriously sucks along the way.
But I never would've met my wife nor my son. I never would've earned the respect of friends so close they're closer than my blood kin. I never would've played to many gigs in dank bars for people who really needed music in those moments. I never would've carved out a place that is mine.
And I never would've had the honor to talk to you in this moment right now.
Things still suck sometimes, of course. But I KNOW I want to be here.
And I know that the world is a better place BECAUSE you're here, and even if by just a small bit, I'm now a better person for having the chance just to talk to you.
I hope you understand these things. And even if you don't, I hope you stick around long enough to find out all about these things.
