re-entry, post op: day 11

i have mentioned studying abroad in italy a couple times. i was there from the middle of may to the middle of june doing two courses on medieval history. after the program, two final papers were assigned. however, our professor had forgotten to return some of our notebooks that she had graded before it was time to fly home. she mailed them around the 19th of june. the group of us without notebooks were given an extension for about a week after our notebooks were to eventually reach us.

yesterday, the 16th of july, i received my notebook in the mail. i also received an email from this professor explaining that she had never had a problem with shipping anything from europe to the united states before but that the deadline for grades is coming up and i would just need to do it without it if needed. the relief of having the notebook back is matched with the dread now that there's this like three day turn around window cause she'll need time to grade it by friday.

i spent all of today fucking around doing nothing. the notes are really helpful to have. i'm halfway through the first paper. wish me luck. summer grinders should be illegal. once i can stop thinking about these papers, i need to start thinking about my senior thesis and starting up the fall semester. time to slowly start turning my brain back on. this is sooooo unfortunate someone come put me out of my misery!!!!!!!

oh, i did not mention it in my blog yesterday but a lot of the pain on the drive up the mountain was made worse as i lost some of the numbness in the boob area and the swelling is coming down. more feeling + bumpy dirt roads = no fun. today i'm still pretty sensitive and i think it must be the feeling in the region returning.
