Miku Monday #3 ~ Hole-dwelling

Hello! Every Monday I will talk about my favorite Vocaloid songs! 

Today I will talk about Hole-dwelling (ft. Hatsune Miku) by Kikuo!

This has GOT to be my FAVORITE Kikuo song! The instrumentals are absolutely beautiful!! The clarinet at the beginning really helps set the creepy and unsettling tone of the song. Typical with Kikuo songs, the tuning on Miku is GORGEOUS, it is so realistic and beautiful. Around halfway through the song the best part shows up, the STEEL DRUMS!! It sounds so angelic and so creepy and fits in the song so beautifully, I absolutely love Caribbean and beach music so the steel drums made the song so much better. It really adds to the wonderful atmosphere the song brings. Especially with headphones on, this song sounds sooo beautiful and amazing. 

The lyrics are also really well written and come on with many interpretations, but they generally revolve around being an introvert, an outcast, or being in isolation. It is not as dark as most Kikuo songs, but still fits his style and this song in particular came out phenomenal. 

I would love for this song to be in official Hatsune Miku games such as Project Diva and Project Sekai, it seems possible as the song itself is quite mellow in meaning compared to other Kikuo songs, but the song is also pretty long, at 6 minutes. Kikuo's works in general aren't in many games, besides Aishite Aishite Aishite (Love me Love me Love me), but that is because it is one of the most popular songs in Vocaloid history, it in fact was the first Vocaloid song to break 100 million on Spotify.
