story ideas… nowhere to put them……

man yknow when you have an idea for a story and it won’t leave your head so you write it down and then you realize you could change a bunch of things but then the story wouldn’t be the same and the same experience would be so so different for two characters and you really want to explore that but you also want a story that focuses on one character’s experience but ALSO both characters’ experience are really important and you can’t decide and just AARGH

on a related note — if i am writing a story about a trans character, is it better for me to have it explained from the get-go, from his perspective, or to have it be a sort-of-implied thing that doesn’t get truly revealed until he is dealing with his past, from another character’s perspective?

i’m not asking about this as “advice on how to write a trans character”. i know how to do that, i’m trans myself (and much of my writing of queer characters comes from my personal experiences). this is more of a question of how i should go about telling the story — more light-hearted, less true focus on him being trans, or a struggle in identity and transitioning?

in the end, i suppose it depends on what i want to see. but i’m not quite sure what that is yet. the story is yet to be set in stone.
