The making of "You Think You're NORMAL?"

YTYN was a piece of art started at around 11pm UTC on the 10th of July and concluded around 4am on the consequent day.

This piece is a fully rendered halfbody scene depicting Bumpy, my sona of slightly avian descent, in a hoodie mocking the three-piece suit look and other such things found within the cover for The Normal Album, a song album made by will wood on the 10th of July, 2020.

When making this, I only realised about an hour or two in that it was the anniversary of said album. That's why I spent so long on it rather than finishing it in the morning - and most importantly why I went so hard on making it.

I started by getting the original TNA image - and tracing over it on a seperate layer to use the traced image as a sidepiece to reference for the pose. I occasionally would bring the original image back while drawing it so I could use it in comparison for certain heights, scales and the typography.

Nothing much to say about it other than the huge layer of inspiration and my absolute pride for the final piece. It really shows of some essence of my sona that I've been aching to show off.

Images below. The first is the art, and the bottom two are the final structure in comparison to the album cover and the album cover itself.

Man, Will Wood is good.

yeaBoth the structure drawn from reference and the original inspiration.
