Hey thar

This shit is awesome. I quit using Facebook a couple years ago and always jokingly said "I wish they would bring back Myspace," but I didn't ever think it would happen.

Logging on here immediately brought back so much nostalgia and old memories, and I remembered the simplicity of old school MySpace.

That was before we all had 8" smartphones that notify us every time someone sends a friend request or likes a post. Or shares something, or clicks an ad or takes a shit.

Facebook is the default online onboarding for virtually everyone.

Like I said, I quit using Facebook a few years ago but I almost have to keep using messenger because we all ditched MSN and AOL about the same time Facebook exploded and MySpace started trying (and failed) to keep up.

The problem with Facebook is that we are the product. Zuck and friends lure us in with photos of friends, shitty but hilarious memes, next level messaging and an entire empire of gifs, emoji and other meaningless digital crack that entices us to create and consume content.

Everything isn't a market. Money is fucking awesome and literally buys freedom but it's not the only reason we're alive. Everything doesn't need to be quantized and corrected and perfected for consumerism.

The purest form of communication is raw human interaction and that's what this website is. I don't need shit curated and thrown into an algorithm that will optimize the release of dopamine in my brain. I just want unedited, uncopyrighted shitposting without Mark Zuckerberg and a thousand other white businessmen getting rich off of it. This place is awesome 🤙
