So, I've recently moved to the northern part of the U.S in August for school. What I didn't realize is that the winters up here are waaaay different than the ones I've experienced in the past. Couple years ago I lived North of Seattle and close to the ocean so it never snowed in the winter time. Back home in Northern Four Corners area, it'd snow but it would be melted by the afternoon so there was never any reason to panic about driving. Only winter weather was cold winds, so I've never actually had a full winter experience.
Back home schools would close with 6 inches of snow, and here in Northern Minnesota I've been told that they don't actually close school unless it's in the negatives temperature! Today it started snowing and I haven't actually checked to see if it stuck to the ground. However, I am worried about driving earlier I went to pick up food and it took me 20+ minutes to get to the restaurant that was seven minutes away lol. I'm not sure how it'll be to drive to work, therapy and every day errands.
All winter advice is welcomed because this southwest native is stressed.
