Made a new painting today. Usually when I make paintings it's a long process of sketching and planning and thinking and then *finally* actually painting which takes multiple days to actually do. But not today, I sat with one of my best friends and we talked and painted together and I went in with hardly any sketching or planning. I was finished in the span of a couple hours and I love it :) It's called Propagation. I am using the metaphor of propagation in this piece because when a clipping is taken from a plant, it can sprout new roots and grow somewhere new; it doesn't matter where the clipping was originally taken from. The chapter of life that I'm in has me making so many changes. I'm having to detach myself from things, many of which aren't so good, that have been rooted within me for years. I will keep growing in spite of the life I was given and find my roots somewhere new :') with new things, people, and experiences that nurture me. I love being an artist. Expressing my thoughts in imagery is so beautiful, and I get to share my work to others too!!
