angel's guide to spacehey ⋆｡°✩ part one: decorating your profile

hello, hello!! if you don't know me already, my name is angel! i'm a somewhat recent member of the spacehey community, and over the time i've been here i've noticed lots of people who are struggling with understanding how the site works! if you're a new member of spacehey and don't know what to do to fully personalize your profile, have no fear!! i'd like to introduce my new blog series, "angel's guide to spacehey" - a slightly detailed and (hopefully) easy to understand guide for how to use spacehey, from things like adding backgrounds to your blog posts to adding music to your main profile! without further ado, let's begin with some basics on decorating your profile!



let's start out with the most basic thing you can do: adding a background to your profile page. the very first thing you'll want to do is find a layout that you like the most via the layout page on the site! when you click on the layout you want, you'll find a code that is paired with it. copy that code and make sure to keep it with you for when you go back to your page. once you've clicked back onto your profile, select the "edit your profile" button and go into the "about me" section. once you've pasted your code, save your edits and check to see if it worked. tadaaa, you've added a background to your profile!! easy-peasy, isn't it?

if you'd like to add some music to your profile, the process is pretty similar! grab whichever song you'd like to use from youtube, spotify, or even via spacehey's layout page, and copy the song code/id. i highly recommend using youtube for your music, as the code i used for my site requires a youtube code! the code you'll be looking for is behind the "v=" part of the link. once you've got that code, make sure to paste it somewhere else so you can gather the actual code you'll need for your profile. edit your "about me" section once again (be sure to add a <br> if you need to!) and paste the following code:

replace the "urlcodehere" with the code from your song of choice, save your changes, and see if it works!!

if you want to add graphics like gifs, stamps, blinkies, etc, here's what you need to do!

first things first, get your image of choice. make sure you hang onto it, because you'll need the image address in a second! next, go into whichever writing space you want (your about me section, your interests section, wherever) and add the code <img src="imageaddresshere">. go back to your image of choice, copy the image address, and replace the imageaddresshere with the link you just got (be sure to keep the quotation marks)! if you want to space them like bullet points, create a new paragraph, add a <br> command, and begin your next bulletin in a new paragraph after that one! when you're finished, save your edits and check out your page again!
