Saw Six the Musical yesterday <3

My mom and I are big theatre kids and we have a subscription to the theatre downtown specifically for the musicals that come through. I was SO HYPED when she told me a while ago that Six was coming this season cuz I really didn't think it would. A while ago when I was not doing so great that was one of the things I came up with to keep going for, like "I gotta stay alive so I can see Six" cuz I figured that would not be in the near future (it was but I'm okay now anyway lol). Just as I expected it was fucking AMAZING! I was only sad it was so short because I loved it so much and I immediately wanted to see it again. Also most of the shows that come through here are really good but have really awful merch which is always unfortunate, this show actually had nice merch. I got this cute little pin that was Katherine Howard's outfit because she's my favorite and her song is my favorite. When I watched her song on stage I cried, which is pretty rare when it comes to crying about stories (books, games, movies, whatever). Her song is (unfortunately) super relatable which was mainly why I liked it so much before seeing the show but the use of choreography in that number and how it complimented the message of the song really punched me in the gut (in a good way it was a great number). It was overall such a powerful show and I'm really glad I got to see it! If you like musicals I definitely recommend it, the soundtrack and the show itself is inspired by a lot of various pop culture and the message is very body positive, sex positive, and especially feminist, and it's super funny. Just a TW specifically for K. Howard's song which is very explicitly about the sexualization/objectification of women from far too early ages, heavy message on grooming. I have very recently learned to be more mindful of triggering content the hard way lol. I virtually never get triggered so I thought I was immune (I was not) but luckily I was at home so it was fairly easy to reign in and cope. Please stay safe and mindful :)
