For context- for years Helck has been my favorite manga. After countless rereads and seances and telling everyone I know to read Helck (and Volundio!), an anime was finally announced. After over a year of waiting, the first episode has released.
I'm actually very happy with it. Incredibly so. They brought this obscure project together on a shoestring budget in a way I can really only describe as loving. As much as I hate to admit it, Helck is really not that popular. Its gained a sizable cult following years after it ended, and the sequel is well underway- but we had no reason to expect anything more than that. So as a fan I really cant be anything but glad that this exists. The team behind it isn't the largest, but it seems like they care to me, and I'm excited to see what comes next. Remember, Satelite also made Symphogear, and their first season didn't have the cleanest start.
I think that we overplayed our hands a bit in that intro scene, but to fit enough plot hooks into 12 episodes, I guess its kinda inevitable. As long as we can get a second cour, I really believe they'll show up and show out.
