Cranky Old Witch
More modern social media sites like Facebook, or Tiktok are pretty passive. The content is spoon fed to you and you need very little interaction to engage.
This is more old school and very much like Myspace was in ... say ... 2006?
The more you actively engage, the more you get out of it.
Groups and forums on here are pretty dead, and notifications aren't really there for those parts.
Bulletins are where it's at for more casual interaction.
Make a number of friends. You need friends for the site to be more 'active' for you. See their bulletins and comment on any that interest you. Write your own bulletins. The bulletins are temporary and stay up for ten days maximum, so they're more casual.
Blogs are good too, but a little less active. But they are better for when you want to put down thoughts that will stay up for more than ten days.
Profile comments are also a good way to engage. See a cool person with a cool profile and interests you like? Leave a friendly hello on their profile. If someone leaves a comment on your profile? Reply back to it.
The more you engage, the more you get out of an old style site like this.
Good luck!
